In 2017 I returned to marathons after a year hiatus of being pregnant and postpartum recovery. It had been my goal for years to break 3 hours and I was still determined to do it. I wrote my own plans for a while and was able to navigate back to my pre-baby time of 3:05, but found myself struggling with core and pelvic strength issues that no one really talks about…as well as balancing training load with an executive career and baby. I reached out to Camille and Conor not only because of their athletic achievements, but also because 1.) I knew Camille had a graduate degree as well as extensive research experience in biomechanical sciences; 2.) Both she and Conor took an evidence-based approach to training and 3.) I valued her outspoken position to clean sport, anti-doping and proper nutrition for female athletes.”

“After 6 months of one-on -one guidance, I was in the best shape of my life, hitting PR’s at every distance and was confidently on target to hit 2:55:00 in my spring marathon. Most importantly I was injury free, and my pelvic floor and core issues were corrected though the approach Camille and Conor took in layering in strength to my program. “I began training with Camille Herron as my coach after a serious injury took me out of running for several months. Her cautious approach to increasing mileage and intensity has kept me healthy as I got back on my feet and eventually returned to racing. I have not had a single injury or niggle in this period. We have built up to easy miles most days with one speed workout per week and I am now rivalling past race performances, many of which were achieved at higher mileage with two or more weekly workouts. I like that my training is measured in time rather than distance: 10 miles of fell running is not 10 miles on a treadmill, so time is a better metric of training stress.
